Our story

Born at a
pool in
Atlanta.
Raised in
the hills of
Italy.

Two traditions, an ocean apart, arrived at the same quiet idea. This is how Teascato happened.

ATLANTA, GEORGIA

“It began at my grandfather’s pool, on a summer afternoon like every other summer afternoon.”

Chlorine and cut grass. Cousins in the water. The grown-ups gathered in the shade with tall glasses of sweet tea, and every so often, someone topped one off with a splash of wine. Nobody made anything of it. It was simply what you did when the tea was cold, the conversation was animated, and nobody had anywhere else to be.

In the South, sweet tea isn’t really a drink. It’s an invitation. The pitcher stays on the table — a not so subtle hint that it should remain there, to be enjoyed for a while. It’s how a Southern house says sit down, stay a while — hospitality, poured into a glass.

PIEMONTE, ITALIA

Years later, an ocean away, I found the same feeling waiting for me — only this time, in another language.

In Italy it’s aperitivo: the hour before dinner when the piazza fills, the glasses are small, the alcohol is gentle, and nobody is in a hurry. I fell for the food, the wine, the unbothered pace of it. And in Piemonte, in the country’s northwest corner, I found Moscato — floral, lightly sweet, entirely unpretentious. A wine Italians drink among friends to enjoy, rather than to study.

It was the same instinct I’d grown up with. Two cultures, an ocean apart, had arrived at the same quiet idea: the best drink in the room is the one that keeps everybody at the table.

Where the two traditions meet

Teascato is what happens when two cultures share a glass.

Real Moscato from Piedmont, Italy, with real tea. A 250ml serving at 9.5% ABV. Gluten-free and vegan certified.

III. THE CROSSROADS

There’s something fitting about it beginning in Atlanta.

This has always been a crossroads city — the place the world passes through, and the place that decided hospitality would be its greatest export. A drink built from two cultures colliding is a very Atlanta thing to be. It tastes the way a Georgia porch and an Italian piazza would sound, if they were talking to each other.

“I didn’t set out to invent a category. I set out to put two places I love into the same glass.”
